Opening of Photography Degree
A pioneer in Latin America, Bachelor of Photography became higher education reference in this area, combining the theoretical and practical learning in the areas of digital and analog photography. However, with the curriculum reform, the latter has been losing ground in the travel schedule.
In order to bring together students from traditional techniques of analog photography, Cidade Invertida opened the course for freshmen students, historically contextualizing the previous processes the digital image. College freshmen had the opportunity to join a dynamic named "Circuito óptico pré-fotográfico". The circuit consists of observation cameras, telescopes, pinhole glasses, drawing cameras and optical devices that refer to research that preceded and were crucial to the development of photography as we know it today.
Interact with these rudimentary devices enables a significant learning of concepts and facts related to image formation and history of photography.
After this course the students photographed and shown in chemical lab. Although many already work as photographers, artisanal revelatory experience of Black & White papers was unprecedented for the vast majority.
